As global crises have escalated in recent years, so has the toll on the most vulnerable.
Based in Argentina, Ethos Legacy is an international NGO built to respond to these moments. We ensure that Jewish communities facing sudden upheaval and displacement have access to the urgent care and resources they need to survive and build.
Ethos Legacy’s mission is to help Jewish communities worldwide navigate the devastating impacts of sudden crisis and profound insecurity. We do this by mobilizing donors and directing support toward urgent needs so that vulnerable individuals – from children to the elderly – can access the immediate safety and essential resources required to rebuild their lives.
At Ethos Legacy, our impact is felt wherever Jewish life is threatened by sudden hardship. By raising funds for trusted partners responding to emergencies, we have helped Jewish communities access practical support when they need it most.
The Core Insight: Trauma support is most effective when woven seamlessly into a child’s everyday routine, rather than delivered in clinical isolation.
Our Work in Ukraine: During the refugee emergency triggered by the war in Ukraine, Ethos Legacy partnered with trusted agencies to fund community-based psychological care for displaced Jewish children. Through trusted partners, this contributed to support delivered in settings such as camps, youth clubs, and afterschool frameworks, where children could access care in ways that felt familiar and manageable.
The Core Insight: During sudden upheaval, practical financial relief helps keep families stable and children connected to everyday routines.
Our Work in Argentina: During periods of severe economic hardship in Argentina, Ethos Legacy mobilized resources to sustain vulnerable Jewish families. Through local partners, that support helped ease pressure on households facing rising costs for essentials such as food, medicine, and transport.
The Core Insight: When a community’s physical environment is threatened, secure and welcoming spaces become essential.
Our Work in Turkey: After the 2023 earthquake in southern Turkey, Ethos Legacy stepped in to back emergency relief efforts for the devastated Jewish community in Antakya. That included helping partners respond to urgent shelter and recovery needs in the aftermath of the disaster.
“When the economic crisis hit, my small business collapsed almost overnight. My biggest fear was that my children would feel the heavy burden of our financial stress. The practical support we received meant they could stay in their community programs and maintain their daily routines without interruption. It preserved our family's dignity.”
Daniel, Father of three, Buenos Aires, Argentina
“Since we had to leave our home in Ukraine, everything familiar disappeared for our kids. The community activities provided the one part of the week that still felt normal. They packed their bags, met friends, and came back talking about games rather than just news and air raid sirens.”
Sarah, Mother of two, displaced from Ukraine
“Supporting this organization gives me a concrete way to help Jewish communities worldwide during their darkest moments. Seeing the tangible impact of their previous crisis responses gives me complete trust in their upcoming initiative to protect children in Israel.”
Martin, Supporter in Argentina
While our mandate is global, our immediate focus is responding to the ongoing crisis in Israel. Since October 7th, war has disrupted childhood for thousands of children across the country. At Ethos Legacy, we are actively preparing to launch a targeted initiative to stand with the Israeli children affected by loss, displacement, injury, and the lasting shock of violence.
Children in Israel have been recognized as victims of violence since October 7th.
Children were evacuated from border communities since 2023, many now living with the strain of displacement and separation from their usual surroundings and social connections.
Of Israeli adolescents (ages 14-18) meet the diagnostic threshold for probable PTSD.
Of Israeli children (aged 12 and under) exhibit symptoms of probable PTSD.
Parents called up for reserves duty since October 7th 2023.
From Buenos Aires, Argentina, where many feel a close personal and cultural connection to Israel, Ethos Legacy is mobilizing to turn concern into action for children in Israel. We plan to support efforts that restore a sense of safety, stability, healing and day-to-day support for those whose routines have been interrupted by violence and displacement.
Our role is to identify and support trusted initiatives in Israel that respond directly to where children need it most. We will work with established local partners already active on the ground, so support reaches children quickly and in a way that reflects their day-to-day reality.
Every contribution we receive will form part of a practical response built on our proven global experience. We are directing this support into three key areas of on-the-ground action:
Today, the demand for mental health support in Israel has risen by 30%. Using our global blueprint from past crises, our initiative will partner with professionals who provide counseling directly within familiar community settings.
The ongoing war has created a hidden economic toll, with over 130,000 parents called up for reserve duty and 20% of displaced families losing jobs. Drawing on our international experience combating economic hardship, Ethos Legacy will work with Israeli organizations to provide practical support so children can maintain normalcy even when parents are overwhelmed.
As Israeli communities face relentless rocket fire, the sudden rush to a bare concrete shelter can be a terrifying experience. Applying lessons from global natural disasters, Ethos Legacy will help fund the physical transformation of these spaces to reduce anxiety.
Our Goal is That They Will Be Seen and Treated First as Children, Not as the Sum of Their Experiences
