Across the world, Jewish individuals and communities live with very different realities. Based in Argentina, Ethos Legacy is an international NGO that helps direct support where it can make a meaningful difference to Jewish lives and communal wellbeing.

Our Global Mission

Ethos Legacy’s mission is to support Jewish people and communities worldwide wherever there is real need. We do this by mobilising donors and directing support toward trusted initiatives that help people live with greater dignity, stability, care, and connection.

The picture on the ground for many Jewish communities helps explain why this mission cannot remain abstract.

How Ethos Legacy Supports Jewish Communities Globally

At Ethos Legacy, this mission becomes real through practical responses to what different communities are facing. By backing local initiatives and programmes, we help address needs that shape people’s daily lives and their ability to rely on the communities around them.

Insight 1:

Jewish Summer Experiences and Youth Life

The Core Insight: Jewish summer camps in Europe give young people space to build friendships and to feel part of a wider Jewish community beyond their local surroundings

Our Work in Central and Eastern Europe: Each year, Ethos Legacy works with partners in Central and Eastern Europe to help young people from smaller communities take part in regional Jewish camps. Recent support has included:

  • Funding camp places for a defined group of teenagers from communities in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and neighbouring countries to join a two‑week regional summer camp.
  • Covering part of the travel and participation costs for families who would otherwise struggle to send their children, especially from towns with limited local Jewish youth activity.

This support means that, each summer, young people who could not otherwise attend are able to spend time in a fully Jewish environment and build lasting connections with peers from across the region.

Insight 2:

Strengthening Jewish Learning and Community Participation

The Core Insight: Paris has one of the largest Jewish populations in Europe and a dense network of schools, synagogues, and community centres, but access to these can still depend heavily on family finances and local resources.

Our Work in Paris: Ethos Legacy supports selected initiatives that make Jewish education and synagogue‑centred community life more accessible. In recent years, this has included:

  • Helping fund discreet fee reductions and emergency bursaries at a Jewish school so a small number of pupils could remain enrolled when family circumstances changed mid‑year.
  • Contributing to a small grant for a synagogue‑based after‑school and weekend programme serving roughly 60–80 children and teenagers each year, helping cover teacher hours and basic materials when local budgets were stretched.

By focusing on specific, clearly defined pieces of work rather than entire institutions, Ethos Legacy helps ensure that a modest amount of funding results in very concrete outcomes: children staying in school and community programmes continuing to run at full strength.

Insight 3:

Jewish Pride and Responding to Antisemitism

The Core Insight: Antisemitism in the UK has risen sharply since 2023, and responses need to combine practical protection with visible, confident Jewish life.

Our Work in in the UK: In 2025, over 3,700 antisemitic incidents were recorded in the UK – the second‑highest annual total ever. Surveys across Europe also show that many Jews avoid wearing or displaying Jewish symbols in public and feel that antisemitism has increased in their country. Against that backdrop, Ethos Legacy stands alongside communities responding on the ground. Recent examples include:

  • Contributing to security improvements for a small number of synagogues and community buildings, for instance, helping fund reinforced entry points or CCTV upgrades as part of projects led by local communities and, where relevant, national security partners.
  • Backing visible Jewish‑pride events, such as public Chanukah lightings and city‑centre cultural programmes, where local partners wanted to respond to fear not only with security measures but also with confident, public Jewish life.

Together, these efforts are specific and measurable: defined buildings become better protected, people affected by incidents have somewhere to turn, and communities maintain a confident presence in public spaces even under pressure.

From Argentina, Standing with Children Affected by Ongoing Conflict in Israel

Since the onset of the current conflict in Israel, many children have grown up with repeated exposure to danger and sudden change; some studies suggest that more than 40% of Israeli adolescents meet the diagnostic threshold for probable PTSD.

 

From Buenos Aires, where many feel a close connection to Israel, Ethos Legacy wants to turn concern into responsible support for children affected by the ongoing conflict. Our role is to stand behind trusted initiatives that are helping protect childhood and restore some day‑to‑day stability and care.
